The Skylark Café
on Wandsworth Common
Wandsworth Common is a beautiful green space in the heart of South West London. It’s a magical place and The Skylark Café sits at the heart of it.
The Common is very much part of the fabric of local lives and a place where lifelong memories are made, from the youngest to the oldest in our community. There are so many corners to explore, with sweeping grasslands, treelined pathways, ponds, wild woods and somewhere for everyone to escape on a little adventure or just relax in the fresh air.
This is where we started, our first café, which today is a place where people gather to relax, refresh or celebrate with friends and family. We fully refurbished The Skylark Café in 2019, creating a modern, comfortable and stylish setting to suit this important green location.
During the week there is a hubbub of locals catching up, grabbing a bite to eat whilst walking the dog or playing with the kids. The Friends of Wandsworth Common are often there, organising activities and initiatives for the community. At the weekend, everyone is out and about getting their fresh air, playing tennis at the wonderful All Stars Tennis, little ones enjoying Saturday sport camps and keeping happy and healthy.
You’ll also see the mighty Bolingbroke Football Club, Battersea Ironsides and Spencer Cricket Club playing on the pitches around the café.
There is a long tradition of celebration at The Skylark Café going back decades, and we’re delighted to continue this today.
Our famous summer barbecues on the terrace are hugely popular for special occasions and in the autumn and winter you can celebrate inside with your own exclusive space to enjoy, with fabulous food and drinks by Roots & Berries.
