Why we do it
We might be a tiny bit biased, but we think a properly run café is essential to the success of a neighbourhood green space.
A poorly run café leaves people hungry, annoyed and not wanting to visit or spend time there. A great café brings people into the park, creates atmosphere, safety in numbers, interest and support for life and the fabric of the green space. It’s a virtuous circle that benefits from what we do in the café, to help create a happy and healthy communities.
Of course, London’s green spaces play a vital role in the environmental structure of this great city. Caring for them in terms of how we operate, how we’re endeavouring to reduce our own footprint as well as facilitate more careful and considerate use of parks and commons by all users, is a vital role and responsibility of us in our role as the café operator. We have plenty more work to do, and we’re making progress all the time.
