The Songbird Café in Geraldine Mary Harmsworth Park, Lambeth SE1

Geraldine Mary Harmsworth Park is the home of the Imperial War Museum.

The park itself is rich in history, having been the original site for the Bedlam Hospital it was later gifted to ‘struggling mothers’ by Viscount Rothermere. As well as being home to the Imperial War Museum, you will find the Tibetan Peace Garden in the park, which was opened by His Holiness the Dalai Lama in 1999.

The park also offers great sports facilities and a children’s play park.

Come and visit us, just near the entrance to the museum...

Having renovated the kiosk in Summer 2022, we’re now open daily serving barista coffee with Curious Roo beans, sandwiches, our signature bakery items, artisan soft-serve ice cream and Jude’s mini tubs and lollies.

We can’t wait to welcome you to this sheltered spot under a beautiful lime tree. You will find picnic bench seating just next door to the kiosk. Wrap up warm if it’s a chilly day and enjoy one of our delicious hot drinks under the London sky.
